About Us

Just an hour west of Washington, D. C., among the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, lies the Amissville United Methodist Church (AUMC). Located on the eastern end of Rappahannock County off Route 211, halfway between Warrenton and Washington, VA, Amissville is a beautiful, small town with scenic views that showcase the best of rural Northern Virginia. With a rich history that began as early as 1829, the AUMC is the oldest United Methodist Church in the county.

Our traditional Methodist values and beliefs partnered with an open-mindedness to worship provide opportunities of growth in one’s personal faith. We are a caring and compassionate congregation that prides itself in having a personal, and family-oriented approach in all that we do. We welcome all who are interested in learning more about the Christian Faith.

Casual dress is fine. Our praise band and pianist play music that include traditional hymns, gospel, bluegrass, country, and contemporary songs. Come 10 minutes early to hear the gathering music.
