Easter Silhouettes

EASTER SILHOUETTES Amissville’s Rt. 211 Easter Silhouettes

The silhouettes on Rt 211 in Amissville tell the Easter story. Starting westbound at the Rappahannock/Culpeper county line, crossing 211 at Early’s carpet (or just beyond Mayhugh’s) and continuing eastbound. The last silhouette is at our church.

These silhouettes were made by the youth of our church about 20 years ago. Our pastor at the time, K Adams had the idea. The youth posed for them, traced them, and painted them after they were cut out. Thanks to our United Methodist Men, the silhouettes have been maintained and put up every year around Easter. Thanks also to the folks of our community who have allowed us to put our silhouettes in their yards every year.
