AMISSVILLE UNITED METHODIST MEN

The Amissville United Methodist Men’s Group was officially chartered in July of 2007.

Our Vision Statement: To make disciples for Jesus Christ through our Men’s Group ministry.

Our purpose: United Methodist Men shall be a creative, supportive fellowship of men who seek to know Jesus Christ, to grow spiritually, and to daily seek his will. Our primary purpose is to declare the centrality of Christ in the lives of men and in all our relationships.

We encourage each man to model the servant leadership of Jesus Christ by:

Membership is open to all men who have a desire to belong to and to participate in the ministry of the church through the United Methodist Men’s organization.  This includes men from other United Methodist churches, men from other denominations, or any man who accepts our purpose as stated above.

Our goal is to support needs through donations to various local charities and organizations. We support the local food banks, the Fauquier Free Clinic, the Fauquier Family Shelter, Hospice of the Piedmont and the Amissville Community Foundation.  We also support Joseph’s Closet and Share Food ministries at AUMC.  We will consider any monetary or service-based request from the community.

The second Saturday of each month, the Men’s Group prepares a country breakfast for the community. This longstanding tradition of our Men’s Group offers people an opportunity to share a meal and Christian fellowship. Donations are accepted but not required.

In the spring and fall, we sponsor a community fish fry.  Like the community breakfast, it provides an opportunity for outreach and Christian fellowship.  The local musicians of Cobbler Mountain Grass often supply music. Donations are accepted but not required.

The men of AMUMC have made it their mission to demonstrate Christ’s love in tangible forms of outreach within our community and beyond. We encourage the men of our church body to be active examples of Christ’s mercy and grace.
